The Conjugated Linoleic Acid or CLA is an omega-6 fatty acid, which is mainly found in vegetable oils and, in smaller quantities, also in meat and dairy products. With the evolution and change of diet over the years the amount of CLA introduced daily has decreased. CLA is primarily a weight loss management supplement, as it is believed to increase metabolic rate and fat metabolism.

WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE THE CLA? CLA is well known for improving body composition due to its ability to divert calories from fat cells to muscles (decrease in fat mass in favor of muscle). If fat loss is your primary goal, CLA, if used in combination with a workout plan and a balanced diet, could be very effective.

The interesting thing about the CLA is that although it is not a miracle cure for weight loss, it is thought to reduce (modify) the pattern of weight gain, which in the long term can be very beneficial to health. The integration of CLA has also shown to give some benefits on performance, such as increasing strength and muscle mass.
